Renewable Green Energy Solutions - Tariffs

There are currently two tariffs in place with the first being for electricity generation and is called the Feed-In Tariffs and the second tariff is for Heat Generation and is called the Renewable Heat Incentive which doesn't go live until April 2011. These tariffs are known as the Clean Energy Cash-back.

The tariffs have been designed for regular energy users like yourself as a means of stimulating the creation of renewable energy at your home or office. These tariffs have been set in place to provide a financial incentive for installing renewable energy systems.

The British Government has made this investment in the creation of renewable energy systems financially attractive. It's estimated that your initial investment would be full recouped within seven to nine years with a regular yearly saving of around £950. Understanding that the rate of savings may vary dependant on your property size - eg. office buildings, farm buildings, schools etc.

Under the tariff scheme you will be directly paid for any energy you produce and use in your property and paid for any surplus electricity produced that you sell back into the grid therefore significantly reducing the amount of energy that you have to buy from the grid.

What rate of return can I expect from the Tariff Scheme?

The Tariffs are designed to produce an average of 8% per annum rate of return but for homeowners this will be higher because the tariff income is Income Tax exempt which means that it will be the equivalent of up to 16% dependant of your income. Whereas the Renewable Heat Incentive is designed to produce a 12% annual rate of return which is also Income Tax exempt meaning that you could see up to a 16% rate of return each year dependant on your income.

It should be known that your money invested into renewable energy systems will give you a far better rate of annual return than any bank or comparable investment opportunity which is one of the major reasons that the renewable energy tariff is so inviting at this time.

Solar Power Solar water heating systems are the most popular form of solar energy used in the UK today. The system is then connected to the hot water system. Solar water heating systems can usually provide over half of a household's hot water requirements over a normal year. There are 2 types of solar water heating collectors being a flat plate or  evacuated tubes depending on your requirements.

Solar PV is a photovoltaic array linked collection of photovoltaic modules of multiple interconnected solar cells. The cells convert solar energy into direct current electricity via the photovoltaic effect. Most PV arrays use an inverter to convert the DC power produced by the modules into alternating current that can plug into the existing infrastructure to power lights, motors, and other loads.

Wind turbines harness the power of the wind and use it to generate electricity for your home. Small systems known as "microwind" or "small-wind" turbines can produce electricity to help power the lights and electrical appliances in a typical suburban home. 40% of all the wind energy in Europe blows over the UK, making it an ideal country for small domestic turbines.

Wood fuelled heating systems generally burn wood pellets, chips or logs to power central heating and hot water boilers to provide warmth in a single room.
Log burning stoves and boilers have to be filled with wood by hand. Some pellet and chip burners use automatic fuel feeders which refill them at regular intervals from fuel storage units called hoppers. A biomass boiler could save you around £470 a year on heating bills

Right now the technology is becoming smarter, the range of green heat pumps is growing and they’re becoming much quieter when in use.
They’re very good for the environment and they’re also highly cost effective. More & more of our clients are deciding to go with the new generation green energy heat pumps because they are very environmentally friendly and attract generous government rebates.

Micro combined heat and power units generate free electricity while heating your house. Not only could it save you money, but it also reduces carbon dioxide emissions.
Micro combined heat and power (CHP) systems have been doing this for several years but now are available to the UK market place and Permanex is your local approved installer so call us now for a free quote.
